A Day to Honor a Wonderful Man!

Today, I'm trying to pull my thoughts together and deal with disappointments. A friend 'Dean' died yesterday. He was a friend to all who met him and he will be missed very much. Dean lived and worked in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was a hard worker and advocated for his fellow citizens with cognitive and intellectual disabilities. He is a hero in his lifetime to the Arc, COAPSE, and in 'ALL' the endeavors he undertook to better the world in which we live. He believed in rights to live independently in the communiity regardless of your abilities. That everyone 'matters' and was a loving person who cared about family and friends. Dean was a leader, not a follower. He was a passionate human being who advocated and lobbied, locally to statewide, on boards and as an executive member of organizations for the developmentally disabled people across the state. He believed in and experienced supported employment. I will greatly miss Dean, and will always remember!
